GUEST REVIEWS

We thank every guest for contributing to our successful first season!

They came from Switzerland, Thailand, Germany, throughout the USA and, of course, Colorado. They enjoyed family gatherings, mountain biking, hiking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, golf and sightseeing.

Our guests loved the huge antique dining table in the atrium
whether for meals or a card game, everyone enjoyed sitting under live, 20-foot palm trees. The gardens and grounds, with the outdoor kitchen, was another favorite. We heard singing, laughter and happy revelry from our cabin up the road.

Everyone was awed by Colorado National Monument, and the views from Silver Raven Ranch.

5 Stars out of 5 Wedding Central for the Groom's Parents

When we realized so many of our family members were coming from New England to Colorado for our son's wedding, we knew we needed to find a place that would be a resting place for some, and a rallying place for all. Finding the Silver Raven Ranch in our search for accommodations, we were pretty sure this was the right place. What we found when we got here was unbelievable. The pictures don't do it justice! It is an amazing place! Huge, well kept, picturesque, and still comfortable for everybody that stayed here ( we used all of the beds! )!! We had 40 plus people here for a dinner one of the nights and there was still plenty of room for large groups or private conversations. The owners maintenance and concern for our comfort while we were there was made known to us from the beginning of our stay and they lived up to it throughout. Though we were there for a wedding, we took full advantage of the location for sightseeing, literally from the back deck, as well as being the launching point for other excursions in this breathtaking part God's creation. Having to drive through the Colorado National Monument to get to places never got old! Arches National Park in Utah, Ouray CO, and Grand Mesa CO were all within reasonable driving distances. And the Grand Junction area had many other places to visit, too. If you get the opportunity to stay at this place, take it! You won't regret it!!

I must say I was a little worried: I wanted to spend my summer holiday on a Sardinian beach! Plus I am gluten, lactose, fructose intolerant and a smoker! Now that I am back I want to say that the Ranch is much better than expected: a big garden where I did yoga in front of the really amazing view and my kids played soccer. A relaxing area with long chairs for sunbathing, several verandas where I could smoke in peace and plenty of room for reading, cooking, eating, sleeping. I did not hike but the area is so rich in beauty that I did not need to: step in the garden and breath, take all in and feel free, such beauty and tranquility simply makes you happy. I drove trough the park and took some 2000 pictures! Grand Junction is pretty, good extended mall and a Vitamin Cottage where I could find my special food. The Ranch owners are very friendly and always willing to help in any possible way. Looking for a very special experience? Definitely go there and enjoy!

Six of us stayed four nights and it was fabulous. The place was well equipped, comfortable, quiet with good views. The owners ensured everything was just right. The breakfasts were the best; don't skip them. The ride up through the park is fairly quick and has its own set of great views.

We rented the whole lodge for 10 days and loved it! The setting is ideal for people who love the outdoors but also want comfortable surroundings and a great kitchen. Hiking trails in the Monument Park start nearby and we also took advantage of the swimming holes and horseriding in the area. The owners were close by and helpful. Pulling together family from California, Ohio, New York and Europe we found the Silver Raven a perfect setting for an active vacation for a group of 14.

Can't tell you how pleased we all were about getting to spend time at the lodge. Plenty of room, nice quiet surroundings and oh my . . . what a poker table! Guys are thinking about coming back next year. Thanks for the great accommodations!

Total serenity even with the kids!

My husband and I stayed at this GREAT lodge for a week and we could not believe the space and service that we experienced while there! Jackie and Larry took all the extra steps to ensure that our stay was both relaxing and that the kids had plenty to do so we could relax, as well. The views from the deck allowed you to enjoy just "being" there.....and the ability for all of us to hike and explore made our family create memories that we will hold for a lifetime! The gardens and outdoor spaces are lovely and we have an upcoming "wedding" in our lives that we intend to make sure takes place overlooking this "mini-Grand Canyon"!

Relaxing Getaway situated in Colorado National Monument

To start, the drive up to the Ranch is absolutely amazing. The drive is through canyons on a winding road. So if you are fearful of heights this drive may be unsettling at first. But after we made the drive a couple times, we became more comfortable with it. It takes about 15 mins to drive from Grand Junction up to the bed and breakfast. So if you are looking for a place nearer or in town, this may not be for you. We on the other hand, loved the seclusion. It is a very peaceful place. We stayed in the Canyon Suite and it had a wonderful view. The bed was comfortable and there was ample closet space to unpack our baggage. We were the only ones staying in the house during our stay so we did not experience what it would have been like to share the house with other guests. There were many different places in the house and on the property that would allow for privacy should we be sharing the house with others. The property was clean and very well kept. The owners were available as they were needed. They were great hosts, so great, we invited them to have dinner with us our last evening there. Speaking of food, the breakfasts were delicious and very filling. It was good fuel for the day as there is many hiking opportunities within and near to the ranch. We have not travelled to this part of Colorado before and were very happy with our accommodations and all the Silver Raven Ranch and its hosts had to offer. If we were to find ourselves out near Grand Junction again we'd feel the need to stop by Silver Raven to appreciate the views and the company of the hosts, Jackie and Larry. Also, to supplement your trip stop at Plum Creek Cellars in Palisade. Buy a bottle or two and relax with a glass on the deck at Silver Raven Ranch. Enjoy your wine and the view!
